WAITING FOR THE BEACH #RISING #SEALEVELS

2019

Performance

This performance situated itself at four different locations near Vancouver's future coastline and took place over four consecutive weekends at 2pm on March 30th, April 7th, 13th and 21st, 2019.

This public intervention and act of mischief is a meditation on our own complacency , consumerism and environmental paralysis, our individual implications in a capitalist system and our obsession with riches and the rich, vanity and selfies in the face of climate disaster. Locations were based on data for a sea level rise of between 4 and 6 meters. No timeline was given.

For the final performance at Denman and Georgia Street on April 21st, the public was invited to join in waiting for the beach.
